A crossroads of world cultures

The Orchestra and Choir of Paris Universities, an association created in 1993, currently counts young amateur musicians from about twenty countries, who have studied music for several years.

The O.C.U.P., the C.R.O.U.S (Regional Centre for University and School Organizations) of Paris and the universities of Paris are united by a partnership that enjoys the support of the C.N.O.U.S (National Centre for University and School Organizations). It gives nearly 300 instrumentalists and choir singers, coming from all Ile-de-France Universities and studying the most various disciplines, the opportunity to progress musically while discovering original works, in an environment that combines high musical standards and conviviality.

In many of these universities – Paris 1, Paris 3, Paris 5, Paris 6, Paris 7, Paris 9 et Paris 12 – the students can include this musical activity in their degree course (UE Musique).

Exchange programs with other European universities are organized regularly.
